VARIOUS AEROSPORTS SITES


FOR HANG GLIDING AND PARAGLIDING :
 

So far our company has identified few of the highly potential Hang Gliding and Paragliding sites in Maharashtra State, where many mountain sites are well available for such sports. Many more sites are yet to be confirmed as a "site" for Hang Gliding and Paragliding activities, however, few of them are defined here :

          A special Note on Kolhapur :

Kolhapur is located in Kolhapur District and is well connected with Mumbai and Puna. It is on the national highway between Mumbai and Bangalore. It is situated on the banks of the Panchganga river and is full of ancient temples and shrines.

Located on the arterial National Highway No. 4, Kolhapur is fast becoming a tourist attraction due to its ancient Mahalaxmi temple, wild life sanctuaries and connections to Goa, Sawantwadi, Amboli, Vengurla, Ratnagiri, Ganpatipule Beaches and Devgad.
 

Kolhapur is well connected to the rest of the state and country. By air, you can reach Kolhapur from Mumbai by a one-hour plane journey.                          Ujalaiwadi Airport is 10 kms from the main city of Kolhapur.

By road, Kolhapur can be reached easily from Mumbai, Pune and other places. There are regular State and private buses that ply between Kolhapur and Mumbai/ Pune. Kolhapur is aprox. 395 kms. from Mumbai and 225 kms. from Pune.
 

By train, it is a 10 to 11 hour journey from Mumbai. There are at least Three Trains for Kolhapur, day and night trains that leave Dadar or Chhtrapati Shivaji    Terminus ( Mumbai VT ), Mumbai for Kolhapur.

           Following are the collection and compiling of various other sites, located in different parts of Indian region, these are as under :          

          A. Nahargarh (Amer) :
 

             Located near Jaipur city (Rajasthan State), about 15 Kms. from the city is good for basic, intermediate and advance.

          B. Jamwa Ramgarh :
 

Located 30 Kms. from Jaipur city (Rajasthan state) is good for basic courses.

C. Achrol :
 

Located on Jaipur - Delhi highway, is good for both intermediate and advance flyers in Paragliding.

D. Samod :
 

Located 30 Kms. from Jaipur (Rajasthan state) is very good for all level of flyers.

E. Harsh (Near Sikar) :
 

14 Kms. from Sikar (Rajasthan state), it was the first site in Rajasthan, where Hang Gliding took place in the year 1988 by two Australian pilots. This site could be proved as an internationally known competition site, if backed by proper marketing means and could be matched up with any world class sites in paragliding and hang gliding discipline.

 

F. Many more sites are located and being identified in Rajasthan State i.e at - Taragarh (Near Ajmer), Mount Abu, Kumbhulgarh, Udaipur (Where lot of sites are located around the lakes and ponds) etc.

G. SITES AT THE HIMACHAL PRADESH STATE :
 

At the Himachal Pradesh, a northern Indian state with Himalayan belt on it's region. There are lot of highly potential sites, which are the well known tourism destinations from all over the world. To known the few Kufri(Near Shimla), Narkanda, Dharamshala, Solang Nalla(Near Manali), Kullu Valley and Bilaspur areas etc. However these are the few well known sites for both Paragliding and Hang Gliding activities. These sites and many more are yet to be explored.

Also ref. an article published in "Skywings" magazine (Official magazine of "British Hang Gliding And Paragliding Association" of U.K) of August 1997 issue, on page no. 32 and in "BHPA TRAINING WINGS 1998" magazine on page no. 40, in which few of the sites are described with photos and expedition report. These sites are from Himachal Pradesh state and other native regions.

SITE FOR POWERED AEROSPORTS :
 

Advance stage in acquiring a small aerodrome (500 X 600 Meters of land) for running  various powered aerosports activities including   Skydiving, all features will be in  accordance with the latest international concepts and standards.

However an another site is also available to us which is located 30 Kms. from Jaipur city and is India's  first private horse polo ground/ resort, beautifully managed by - "Jaipur Polo & Equestrian Academy", which is quite ideal for any verity of Powered Aerosports.
